Critique Night II at PLUG Projects

PLUG PROJECTS

1613 Genessee Street

Kansas City, MO 64102

Thursday, January 12, 2012

6-8pm

Join us this Thursday for our second critique with Blair Schulman and our guest moderators Corey Antis and Sean Kelley. We will be looking at the work of Pat Alexander, Mark Cowardin and Neil Lawley.

PLUG PROJECTS will be regularly hosting critique nights in between exhibitions. Critique nights will be moderated by local critic Blair Schulman, accompanied by a small rotating panel of artists and art professionals in the community who will participate in dialogue with local artists about their work, which will be displayed in the gallery space live for the critique. Up to three artists will be chosen to participate in each crit night. Each artist will be asked to bring no more than five works for discussion. There will be 30 minutes allocated per artist for group discussion of their work. Critiques will be open to the public to engage in dialogue as well.

The goal of this series is to encourage open discussion of artists’ work and to activate both the artist and audience in engaged dialogue that will provoke artistic growth and the public’s engagement.

PLUG PROJECTS is a curatorial collaboration by five Kansas City artists who share the mission of bringing fresh perspectives and conversation to the local art community. Our goal is to energize artists and the public at large by exhibiting challenging new work, initiating critical dialogue, and expanding connections of artists in Kansas City as part of a wider, national network of artists.
