Experience the poetry, music and dance of Kansas City’s thriving Persian community with a Persian Celebration from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, June 21 at the Marrakech Café, Broadway and Westport Road, Kansas City, Mo. The event, hosted by Kansas City writer and artist SHARON EIKER, also will feature authentic Persian desserts. Admission is free.
The program is presented by the Vox Narro project, which pairs writers with new immigrant communities to celebrate, educate and give voice to some of Kansas City’s newer communities. Vox Narro is supported by the Rocket Grants program, which is funded by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and administered by the Charlotte Street Foundation and the Spencer Museum of Art to support innovative, public-oriented work in nontraditional spaces.
