Bhutan is tucked away in the Eastern Himalayas and often has been visited by those on a personal quest for wisdom, inspiration, solitude and happiness. Join us for a celebration of this rich culture Sunday, September 15 from 2-4 p.m. at the North-East Branch of the Kansas City Public Library, 6000 Wilson Rd., Kansas City, Mo. Members of Kansas City’s Bhutanese community will share poetry, music, traditions and personal histories. Refreshments in the Bhutanese tradition will be served. Admission is free.
This program is presented by the Vox Narro Project, which pairs writers with new immigrant communities to celebrate, educate and give voice to some of Kansas City’s newer communities. Vox Narro is supported by the Rocket Grants program, which is funded by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and is developed and implemented by the Charlotte Street Foundation and the Spencer Museum of Art to support innovative, public-oriented work in non-traditional spaces.
