Charlotte Street Foundation and the Spencer Museum of Art are delighted to announce this year’s selections to receive Rocket Grants Awards, a program funded by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
A selection panel composed of both national and local jurors – Kemi Ilesanmi, New York, Juan William Chávez, St. Louis, David Loewenstein, Lawrence, and Mark Southerland, Kansas City – awarded $54,000 to a set of projects that are in equal measures quirky and serious, exploratory and focused, public and intimate, across a variety of disciplines, media and locations.
The full Press Release includes details about the Awards Ceremony that will be held at the Kansas City Museum on June 5, 5–7 PM, and will include pecha kucha style presentations from the selected proposals.
Selections were made from among a highly competitive pool, and eight Full Project Awards (one more than projected), and two Research & Development Awards were conferred. Read about the selected projects here.
