Zz School is in Session!

Zz School!

Classes have officially started at the Zz School of Print Media! We are so honored to have full enrollment for our fall session!!  Our Silkscreen at Normal Human class taught by Pat Egger, co-owner of the print shop Normal Human in Westport started last Tuesday.  Students in this course will gain an understanding of the silk screen medium and be given the equipment and opportunity to make prints every Tuesday and Thursday night from now through the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Our classroom also features an excellent illuminated sign!

Last Saturday marked the first official field trip in our course Kansas City Object Lessons.  In this course students will view and discuss six collections of objects, art objects, and works on paper that exist in local personal and private collection within Kansas City.  These field trips are guided by a representative from the collection.

Last Saturday we visited Mo Dickens, gallery assistant at the Belger Art Center.  Mo took our students on a very special tour of the current exhibitions as well as the permanent collection on the second floor of the Belger.  The Belger collection features the work of many prominent American artists who were active during the 1960’s and into the present.  A very unique opportunity! Here is a nice picture of Mo introducing the collection to our class.  Take note of all those crates in the background.  Yep. They are filled with art!

It’s not too late to sign up for Zz School programming!   Enrollment is currently open for Danni Parelman’s Winter Weekend Workshop (taking place December 13 -14). Our Spring Session calendar and course enrollment will open December 1.
