Experience the aromas, tastes, and sounds of Kansas City’s thriving Middle Eastern community with a Palestinian Celebration from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 31 at the Sabah Café and Hookah Bar, 6144 Raytown Trafficway, Raytown, Mo. Kansas City educator and poet Judith Towse Roberts will host an afternoon of Middle Eastern poetry and music. Authentic cuisine will be provided by Sabah Café.
This event is presented by the Vox Narro project, which pairs writers with new immigrant communities to celebrate, educate and give voice to some of Kansas City’s newer communities. Vox Narro is supported by the Rocket Grants program, which is funded by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and administered by the Charlotte Street Foundation and the Spencer Museum of Art to support innovative, public-oriented work in nontraditional spaces.
