A Very Long Night at KC Artist Coalition this Friday

KCArtistsCoalition-Space-01Please stop by the Kansas City Artist Coalition this Friday  for the opening of A Very Long Night… my recent works in graphite, digital prints, and experimental animation.

Oct 11, 6-8.30pm, The Coalition is located in a beautiful old building in 201 Wyandotte St., by the River Market area.

Working live in the gallery and responding to the challenges of this particular space has been a really interesting experience… WOW!  My sincerest appreciation goes to Carrie Beall, Jason Zeh, Steven Prohira, Solace Naeymi, Andrew Sims, and Anna Davis, who have lent an invaluable hand during the drawing and installation process.

I would like to thank my collaborators Matthew Gonzales and Shine Adams, without whom this work would have not been made possible. And I would like to thank the Kansas City Artist Coalition for all the assistance they have provided me with staff, a generous crew of volunteers and its Director, Janet Simpson for inviting me to do this project in the first place. This project has been partially funded by a Lighton International Artist Exchange Program__a project of the Kansas City Artist Coalition, Kansas City, MO, and the University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS.

KCArtistsCoalition-Space-04Also supported by a Rocket Grants Research and Development grant (see Your Ideal End), I am currently working with an interdisciplinary team to offer workshops combining creative and therapeutic approaches in crisis centers. More about this to come… keep an eye out for it!

Please join us for the opening!
