We Are Here to Plant a Tree receives grant from Forest ReLeaf of Missouri

Mike Walsh, Forestry Program Manager of Forest ReLeaf of Missouri, and certified Arborist presented our team with 45 native trees for planting.

We Are Here to Plant a Tree team members recently traveled to St. Louis to accept a CommuniTree grant from Forest ReLeaf of Missouri. ForestReLeaf nurtures Missouri Department of Conservation seedlings into larger trees that are offered to groups who are planting on public and non-profit lands. Since their inception in 1998, nearly 100,000 trees have been donated for such efforts. Because of Forest ReLeaf’s generosity, we will be able to triple, and in some cases, even quintuple the number of trees planted at our sites. We Are Here to Plant a Tree is the first arts project to ever be granted a CommuniTree Award. During our acceptance ceremony, forester Mike Wallace suggested the we might consider changing our name to We Are Here to Plant TREES!
